Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) History The Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) is an industrial labor union, founded in 1905 as a more radical alternative to craft unions. An industrial union organizes by industry, rather than by craft. The IWW is also intended to be a radical and socialist union, with an anti-capitalist agenda, not just reformist agenda within an overall capitalist system. The current constitution of the IWW makes clear its class struggle orientation: The working class and the employing class have nothing in common. There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life.Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organize as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the Earth.†¦.It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism. The army of production must be organized, not only for everyday struggle with capitalists, but also to carry on production when capitalism shall have been overthrown. By organizing industrially we are forming the structure of the new society within the shell of the old. Informally called the â€Å"Wobblies,† the IWW originally brought together 43 labor organizations into â€Å"one big union.† The Western Federation of Miners (WFM) was one of the larger groups that inspired the founding. The organization also brought together Marxists, democratic socialists, anarchists, and others. The union was also committed to organizing workers regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, or immigrant status. Founding Convention The Industrial Workers of the World was founded at a convention in Chicago called on June 27, 1905, which â€Å"Big Bill† Haywood called â€Å"the Continental Congress of the working class.† The convention set the direction of the IWW as a confederation of workers for â€Å"the emancipation of the working class from the slave bondage of capitalism.† Second Convention The following year, 1906, with Debs and Haywood absent, Daniel DeLeon led his followers within the organization to remove the president and abolish that office, and to diminish the influence of the Western Federation of Miners, which DeLeon and his Socialist Labor Party fellows considered too conservative. Western Federation of Miners Trial At the end of 1905, after confronting the Western Federation of Miners on strike at Coeur d’Alene, someone assassinated the governor of Idaho, Frank Steunenberg.  In the first months of 1906, the Idaho authorities kidnapped Haywood, another union official Charles Moyer, and sympathizer George A. Pettibone, taking them across state lines to stand trial in Idaho.  Clarence Darrow took up the defense of the accused, winning the case at the trial from May 9 to July 27, which was widely publicized.  Darrow won an acquittal for the three men, and the union profited from the publicity. 1908 Split In 1908, a split in the party formed when Daniel DeLeon and his followers argued that the IWW should pursue political goals through the Social Labor Party (SLP). The faction which prevailed, often identified with â€Å"Big Bill† Haywood, supported strikes, boycotts, and general propaganda, and opposed political organization. The SLP faction left the IWW, forming the Workers’ International Industrial Union, which lasted until 1924. Strikes The first IWW strike of note was the Pressed Steel Car Strike, 1909, in Pennsylvania. The Lawrence textile strike of 1912 began among the workers at the Lawrence mills and then attracted IWW organizers to help out. The strikers numbered about 60% of the city’s population and were successful in their strike. In the east and Midwest, the IWW organized many strikes. Then they organized miners and lumberjacks in the west.   People Key early organizers of the IWW included Eugene Debs, â€Å"Big Bill† Haywood, â€Å"Mother† Jones, Daniel DeLeon, Lucy Parsons, Ralph Chaplin, William Trautmann, and others.  Elizabeth Gurley Flynn gave speeches for the IWW until she was expelled from high school, then she became a full-time organizer. Joe Hill (remembered in the â€Å"Ballad of Joe Hill†) was another early member who contributed his skill in writing song lyrics including parodies.  Helen Keller joined in 1918, to considerable criticism. Many workers joined the IWW when it was organizing a particular strike, and dropped membership when the strike was over.  In 1908, the union, despite its larger-than-life image, had only 3700 members. By 1912, the membership was 30,000 but was only half that the next three years.  Some have estimated that 50,000 to 100,000 workers may have belonged to the IWW at various times. Tactics The IWW used a variety of radical and conventional union tactics. The IWW supported collective bargaining, with the union and the owners negotiating over wages and working conditions. The IWW opposed the use of arbitration – settlement with negotiations run by a third party.  They organized in mills and factories, railroad yards and railroad cars. Factory owners used propaganda, strike-breaking, and police actions to break up IWW efforts. One tactic was using Salvation Army bands to drown out IWW speakers. (No wonder some IWW songs make fun of the Salvation Army, especially Pie in the Sky or Preacher and Slave.) When the IWW struck in company towns or work camps, employers responded with violent and brutal repression. Frank Little, partly of Native American heritage, was lynched in Butte, Montana, in 1917. The American Legion attacked an IWW hall in 1919 and murdered Wesley Everest. Trials of IWW organizers on trumped-up charges was another tactic. From the Haywood trial, to the trial of immigrant Joe Hill (the evidence was slim and then disappeared) for which he was convicted and the executed in 1915, to a Seattle rally where deputies fired on a boat and a dozen people died, to the 1200 Arizona strikers and family members detained, put in railroad cars, and dumped in the desert in 1917. In 1909, when Elizabeth Gurley Flynn was arrested in Spokane, Washington, under a new law against street speeches, the IWW developed a response: whenever any member was arrested for speaking, many others would also begin speaking in the same place, daring the police to arrest them, and overwhelming the local jails.  The defense of free speech brought attention to the movement, and in some places, also brought out vigilantes using force and violence to oppose street meetings.  Free speech fights continued from 1909 through 1914 in a number of cities. The IWW advocated for general strikes to oppose capitalism in general as an economic system. Songs To build solidarity, the members of IWW often used music.  Dump the Bosses Off Your Back, Pie in the Sky (Preacher and Slave), One Big Industrial Union, Popular Wobbly, Rebel Girl were among those included in the IWW’s â€Å"Little Red Songbook.† The IWW Today The IWW still exists.  But its power diminished during World War I, as sedition laws were used to put many of its leaders in prison, totaling almost 300 people. Local police and off duty military personnel forcibly closed IWW offices. Then some key IWW leaders, immediately after the Russian Revolution of 1917, left the IWW to found the Communist Party, USA.  Haywood, charged with sedition and out on bail, fled to the Soviet Union. After the war, a few strikes were won through the 1920s and 1930s, but the IWW had faded to a very small group with little national power.

Over time, both qualitative and quantitative research have been melded into an interdisciplinary approach to social research but this depends on the type of research, the problem/issue to be dealt with and the question one wishes to answer. How research is conducted depends on the nature of the reality one wishes to study, the knowledge we have about that reality and then the way that knowledge is organized. In other words the ontology, epistemology and metho dology of social research refers to the various sectors of sociological information we have. With regards to social policy and personal lives, quantitative research will tell us very little about the way we perceive our surroundings, but qualitative research is focused on the individual for whom that very society is constructed. Social policies such as welfare systems and educational institutions are built around the specific social group and while it is well known that generalizations about society are often made, qualitative research seeks to verify certain realities. The research essentially grants the scientist the viewpoint 'from the horse's mouth'. For example, what people think about legal systems can be postulated around ones own opinion, but it is only when others are asked that this hypothesis can be true or not. One can always assume that people work for instance in the Care-giving industry because they enjoy it or because they feel a moral obligation to do so, but by asking the recipient themselves a clearer picture is given. That Care work is relegated to those with more compassion than other, may necessarily be assumption, but the relationship between personal lives and this form of social policy cannot be removed. This is because Care work is based on the individual and not the collectivity. Therefore care-workers are often spit into formal and informal (Fink, 2004: 5). This basically splits the category into those that volunteer and those that are paid. Over time there has unfortunately been a great deal of dissention regarding abuse of these positions in cases of potential sexual molestation and physical abuse (Fink, 2004: 11). Police Department Organization Essay There are three different types of police departments they individually have their own jurisdictions nonetheless their structure is very similar. For bigger departments the structure is going to be more in depth mainly because of all the moving parts in its system. For those smaller departments it will be smaller due to fewer personnel on shift and tasks at hand. In the Unites States we have three different types of police departments local, state, and federal. In this paper you will find a brief description of all three. In the city of El Centro California we have a smaller department due to the population here in El Centro. El Centro Police Department was established in 1908 it involves 58 sworn officers and 26 civilian employees. The structure is made up of the Police Chief, Commanders, Lieutenants, Sergeants, field officers, and civilian employees. This department comprises of three sub-divisions patrol, traffic, and Crisis Response Unit. Patrol is in charge of patrolling the city and making police presence known. Traffic division handles city traffic and makes sure that residents and visitors alike are respecting all speed limits and traffic signals. Crisis Response Unit is a specialized unit that has been established to handle critical field operations. It manages sensitive calls such as those where negotiations are needed; it is also capable of deploying specialized units where highly trained officers are need. Investigations Division accounts for two sergeants, seven detectives, one community service officer, and a secretary. Four of the seven detectives are assigned to handle multi-jurisdictional narcotics enforcement and one detective is allocated to juvenile crimes. Evidence and property is controlled by the community service officer. The person responsible for the Investigation Divisions smooth operations is the division secretary. The Chief, Executive Commander, and Staff assistant lead the Administration Division. Police Chief Jim McGinley is the current chief for El Centro police department. Chief McGinley has 32 years of law enforcement practice; previously he served as Commanding Officer for San Diego Police Department. Prior to retirement in 2005 Chief McGinley headed the Investigations Divisions 2. Chief McGinley was in charge of elder abuse, auto theft, financial crimes, robbery, gangs, and homicide. California Highway Patrol was formed August 14, 1929. It consists of eight different divisions throughout California. Their structure is very similar to a military unit. At the top of its structure is the Commissioner which has the following offices under it Office of Special Representative, Office of Inspector General, and Office of Employee Relations. Deputy Commissioner follows with the Office of legal affairs, Medical Relations, and Equal Employment Opportunity. After that the structure branches of into two different components one being administrative and the other being the officers on the beat. Assistant Commissioner Staff has several departments like Administrative Service Division, Information management, Enforcement Planning, Office of the Academy, Internal Affairs, Office of Employee Assistance safety, and the Office of Organization Development. Assistant Commissioner Field is the other branch that I mentioned. This office also has various divisions and offices like Protective Service Division, Office of Air Operations, State Security Division, and all of it different patrol divisions in the state. The state is broken down into eight different divisions I will name them form southern California to northern California; Border Division, Southern Division, Inland Division, Central Division, Costal Division, Valley Division, Golden gate Division, and Northern Division. California Highway Patrol has two main missions the primary one is to make sure that all traffic and transportation along freeways and state routes. CHP officer still maintain police authority out of state route and freeways. CHP’s secondary mission is to aid and assist to any emergencies that exceed local capabilities. A federal police agency is the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and it was founded in July 1973 formed by President Richard Nixon. He established this agency to combat the war on drugs and not only nationwide but worldwide as well. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration web page the DEA has nearly 5,000 Special Agents and a budget of $2.02 billion. The Administrations structure is very complex and consists of many different divisions. At the top of its enormous structure it has its Administrator and Deputy Administrator followed by five different branches forming the top of this structure. It has Executive Equal Opportunity Employee Assistant Staff (ADE), Executive Policy Strategic Planning Staff (ADS), Office of Administrative Law Judges (LJ), Office of Chief Council, and Office of Congressional public Affairs. Drug Enforcement Administration has many other divisions and departments that they account for a whole thirty one of them to be exact with the last one being field operations. Graduation Speech -- Graduation Speech, Commencement Address

Well, here we are. Sitting in this stuffy gym wearing these unflattering robes, while the band is poised and ready to play â€Å"Pomp and Circumstance.† We’ve always known this day would come and, whether our teachers, our parents or ourselves are prepared for it, here it is. We’re about to take that giant leap in just a few minutes and after that, it’s time to make our own choices. No longer will our biggest decisions entail which person to ask to prom or which period would be the best to TA during. Now our choices will begin to revolve around which bills we need to pay and what job we want to be doing 20 years from now. And whether you choose to earn a degree, get a job certification or immediately start working, there are some universal choices that everyone should make to ensure a fulfilling life for ourselves and our families. First is the choice of love. The time is almost upon us to stop being children and start being parents. Unfortunately, there seems to be an alarming trend in the breakdown of families nationwide. Parents are becoming too busy to involve themselves in children’s lives. Not enough of them are talking to their children about important issues, such as tolerance, suicide and drug abuse. Divorce rates are high and not enough children receive the proper attention or counseling during those rough times. All of these factors combine to make an unsteady environment for children of today and the future. Teen drug abuse is high. Teen suicide rates are high. And for some awful reason, kids even as young as first grade are killing each other. Starting today, we have the power to change this. Growing up is an intimidating thing: a large, never ending cycle that we cannot slow nor stop but can only dig in deep with ... ...o be on this earth, so if you don’t live your life to the absolute fullest, you may have more regrets than you can count. You only have one shot at living your life so don’t make it a dull one with little meaning. Finally, in the end, after we’ve lived our lives and it’s all said and done, not all of us are going to be as wealthy as Bill Gates or have more than 15 minutes of fame. Our autobiographies won’t be best sellers and most of us won’t compete in pro sports or make it on television. This is not to say, however, that our lives will have little impact on the world around us. It is the families we raise, the friendships we honor and the beliefs we cling to that will determine in the end whether or not we were successful. I wish all of you, my friends, the very best the adult world has to offer — our time starts now. Live it fully with no regrets. Thank you.

City of Kelsey – Stanley Park Project Rachelle Bittle Abstract The City of Kelsey is considering and requesting community input on the propanol of the Stanley Park Project. This project is a park that will cover 60 city acres that will serve community members of all ages. City of Kelsey – Stanley Park Project The City of Kelsey is a community of 600,000 people. Geographically Kelsey covers over 200 square miles and is bordered by a river on one side and farmlands on another. Kelsey has a median age of 32 with a household size of 2. . (Apollo, 2011) The City of Kelsey was incorporated 78 years ago. Suburbs that house the headquarters of a major shipping company surround the City. The major services of Kelsey are the Cities Administrative Services, Police, Fire, Community Services and Development Services. Kelsey has a school district that houses over 71,000 students and employees over 90 employees. (Apollo, 2011) The proposal of the Stanley Park Project aligns with Kelse y’s goals to have to amenities of a big city while keeping the small town charm.They Stanley Park project would occupy 60 acres with in the city limits that would be accessible by one controlled city street. The city has some very important values. The city has Public Trust, Customer Service, Employees and Continuous Improvement as values that they have committed to. Stanley Parks setup has that large city feel. The park would include amenities to suite any community member’s desire. The park would include a police substation, dog parks, Volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, Aquatic Facility, Community Center and an outdoor area equipped with playground and picnic area. The administration of Kelsey will have to make sure that financially that Kelsey can stay up with the up keep of this project. The project seems to have many great things to offer the public. When presented to the public they will need to make sure that they focus on the services this par k will provide to the communities children and senior population. Success

Success in my own words. Success is an enigmatic entity. Most of us pursue it as a fixed entity that will magically leave us content. But according to me, that is as far from the truth as can be. Because contentment is the enemy of success. The moment I were to feel that I am content, is the moment my success stops. The passion to challenge myself is the fuel that I need to burn in order to keep achieving success. It is very common in India that right from a very young age, our success is measured as a factor relative to the success of our peers.I do not try to compare myself with others, which I think is the most destructive thing one can do. Every person is unique, and every person has their own strengths and weaknesses. I have always believed that I am my own best friend. And my idea of a best friend is someone with whom I can compete fiercely, and constantly. This means that I am always trying to outdo myself. Each time I reach the peak of my achievement, I would've already set m y eyes on something higher. And I am relentless in my pursuit of any and every goal I set for myself.This does not mean that I do not revel in my moments of achievement. I give myself the occasional pat on the back. And I think it is essential to do so, because motivation is like the lubricant that keeps the gears of success going. And as an engine with copious amounts of fuel, without a lubricant, eventually grinds to a halt, damaging the engine permanently, without motivation, one's success may seem to go leaps and bounds in the beginning, but eventually will come to a complete and permanent halt. I have seen many people be deliberately unenthusiastic about their achievements to he outside world.This will eventually lead to a never ending void in us, that no amount of success can fill. Success is a thing to be celebrated, and something hidden from the world is never a celebration. But once again, we must be careful not to let ourselves run amok, as there is a very thin line that s eparates celebration from extravagance. And extravagance almost always leads to lethargy, dousing the flames of passion and motivation. And that is where the final ingredient in this mechanism of success comes in- hard work.If passion is the fuel and motivation the lubricant that runs the engine of success, then hard work is the spark plug that ignites the mixture, and keeps it burning strong. Without hard work, no great plans of grandeur can come to fruition. I think that a perfect balance of passion, motivation and hard work is what is required to achieve long lasting, tangible success. If either one goes out of proportion, then success becomes elusive and seemingly impossible to achieve.

The 1920s as a New Age. The 1920's was a period of change and turmoil for the US on all fronts. Suffering from post-war withdrawal and home grown prosperity this decade can be argued as a period of anxiety, intolerance, hedonism, and liberation. While one aspect of the American lifestyle burgeoned with new culture and technology the other spiraled towards isolationism and nativism.The fear of communism and foreign encroachment on American government and values led to much anxiety and intolerance. The red scare, for example, 'red listed' Hollywood actors and blue collar workers alike, causing employers to shun them. Labor unions and strikes were blamed on communists while traditional fundamentalism was reinforced. This time period also came with the rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan which had largely died out by the turn of the century. With this new birth, the list of the hated grew longer, including Jews, modernists, and foreigners. Foreigners were also discriminated by the nativists, who's members grew to inclu de the general US population, causing the creation of the Emergency Quota Act of 1921 and the Immigration Act of 1924 each plugging the flow on the new immigration.United StatesAlong with this anxiety and intolerance was the new US hedonism and liberation. Restructuring of American morals led to 'hedonism' to the old world values. One piece bathing suits, shorter skirts, and sexual exploration all came along with the youths disillusionment directly caused by the literature of the times and Freudian thinking. The advent of the radio, car, and talking movie also helped spread American culture. Liberation was also benefited by the car allowing youths and women to travel beyond the grasps of husbands and parents allowing for more job availability for women and more freedom for kids.The age of the 1920's although shunning and discriminating against many new groups of Americans...

Cuando una persona extranjera necesita urgentemente ingresar a Estados Unidos y no puede obtener una visa podrà ­a calificar para obtener una parole humanitaria. Puntos clave: parole humanitaria La parole humanitaria solo es posible pedirla cuando el solicitante est fuera de EE.UU., no puede de ninguna manera obtener una visa regular y necesita ingresar a Estados Unidos por razà ³n de emergencia humanitaria o beneficio pà ºblico significativo.Cualquier persona puede pedir la parole humanitaria para sà ­ mismo, aunque tambià ©n es posible que lo solicita otra persona o una ONG a su nombre.El solicitante o sus patrocinadores debern tener recursos econà ³micos suficientes para demostrar que, de ingresar a EE.UU. el solicitante no se convertir en carga pà ºblica.Una de cada cuatro solicitudes de parole humanitaria es negada.De aprobarse, las parole humanitarias son por un tiempo concreto.  ¿Quà © es la visa humanitaria para Estados Unidos? Aunque habitualmente a este tipo de autorizacià ³n se les llama visa humanitaria en realidad no es un visa, sino que se trata de un parole, es decir, una autorizacià ³n extraordinaria que se otorga cuando no se cumplen los requisitos ordinarios para obtener una visa. Requisitos para solicitar una parole humanitaria Los requisitos para calificar para solicitar la parole humanitaria son cuatro: Estar fuera de EE.UU.No poder obtener una visa para EE.UU. por ser inadmisibleEl ingreso a EE.UU. serà ­a temporalLa razà ³n por la que se pide el parole es de naturaleza humanitaria o por razones de beneficio pà ºblico. Hay ms de 20 visas no inmigrante distintas para ingresar a Estados Unidos, cada una con sus caracterà ­sticas y requisitos. Adems, chilenos y espaà ±oles y ciudadanos de otros 36 paà ­ses  no la necesitan para viajes por tiempo inferior a 90 dà ­as. Si no es posible obtener ninguna de estas visas, a veces es posible solicitar un waiver, tambià ©n conocido como perdà ³n o permiso. Si se han agotado todas las posibilidades y no es posible viajar a EE.UU. porque se es inadmisible  podr entonces intentarse obtener la parole humanitaria.  ¿Quà © es una razà ³n humanitaria o beneficio pà ºblico significante para obtener la parole? La ley migratoria de los Estados Unidos establece que se puede solicitar cuando se dà © una de las siguientes causas:   mà ©dica, tanto para visitar a un familiar enfermo o accidentado o  como para recibir tratamiento mà ©dico, cuando no sea posible recibirlo en el propio paà ­s o en uno vecino.presentarse como testigo en un juicio  civil o penalcasos muy excepcionales de reunificacià ³n familiar, cuando se trata de una separacià ³n entre adulto - nià ±o menor de 16 aà ±os o en casos de incapacidad fà ­sica o mental.cualquier otra que sea considerada grave.  cuando sea un beneficio pà ºblico importante. Son muy importantes los ejemplos para ilustrar estos requisitos. Asà ­, una razà ³n mà ©dica de peso puede ser que un nià ±o enfermo necesite de una operacià ³n que solo se realiza en los Estados Unidos, y se puede pedir la parole para el menor y para su padre o su madre. Otro ejemplo, es si se necesita hacer una donacià ³n de mà ©dula a un hermano, etc.   Un ejemplo de reunificacià ³n familiar puede ser el caso extraordinario en el que un matrimonio obtiene una visa de inmigrante pero la esposa tiene un bebà © despuà ©s de la entrevista en el consulado pero antes de viajar a los Estados Unidos.   Se aplica inmediatamente por el I-130 pero por retrasos en las fechas de prioridad el bebà © tendrà ­a que estar muchos meses separado de su mam, esperando por un nà ºmero de visa disponible. Para evitar esto, podrà ­a solicitarse. Tambià ©n podrà ­a considerarse como base para un parole la necesidad de cuidar a un familiar muy grave o moribundo que se encuentra en EE.UU. o el deseo de asistir a un funeral de una persona cercana.  ¿Quià ©nes pueden presentar la solicitud de parole humanitaria? Pueden hacerlo cualquiera de las siguientes personas: La persona que necesita el parole. Es decir, el beneficiarioUn abogadoUna organizacià ³n sin fin de lucroUn familiar u otra persona como un amigo que est en Estados Unidos y que  patrocina. En este caso à ºltimo caso se debe enviar prueba de estatus migratorio legal en Estados Unidos, como por ejemplo, pasaporte americano, si es ciudadano, green card, si es residente permanente legal, etc.  ¿Cà ³mo solicitar la parole humanitaria? Para realizar la peticià ³n de parole humanitaria es requerimiento completar dos formularios oficiales, pagar y adjuntar documentacià ³n adicional que apoye la peticià ³n.   Existen dos formas muy parecidas de solicitar el permiso. En primer lugar, si el solicitante que fuera de Estados Unidos presenta la solicitud por sà ­ mismo, es decir, una auto-peticià ³n,  las reglas son las siguientes: Antes de comenzar a rellenar los formularios es necesario presentarse en persona en la embajada o consulado de los Estados Unidos y solicitar una pre-autorizacià ³n para llenar el I-131. Si se obtiene, en algà ºn momento que ya se indicar ser necesario acudir al consulado o a un centro de apoyo para que le tomen al solicitante los datos biomà ©tricos, como por ejemplo, las huellas digitales. Adems, una vez obtenida la pre-autorizacià ³n ya se puede ya completar la planilla  I-131.   Esta planilla, que se llama en inglà ©s Application for Travel Document es utilizado en ms casos que nada tienen que ver con la parole humanitaria. Por esta razà ³n es que es fcil confundirse por lo que se recomienda prestar mucha atencià ³n o contratar a un abogado con experiencia en estos casos. La otra planilla que se debe enviar con la aplicacià ³n es la  I-134 que es una declaracià ³n jurada sobre recursos econà ³micos. Incluir la declaracià ³n de impuestos, prueba de empleo actual y,  si se pide el parole por razà ³n mà ©dica, prueba de cà ³mo se va a pagar el tratamiento. Con este requisito se trata de demostrar que el solicitante no se convertir en una carga pà ºblica en el caso de ingresar a EE.UU. Adems, si un abogado colabora en la peticià ³n de este permiso, debe presentarse la forma G-28. Si se solicita para recibir tratamiento mà ©dico debe incluirse documentacià ³n de por quà © no puede recibir dicho tratamiento en su paà ­s ni en los vecinos, papeles mà ©dicos sobre diagnà ³stico y prognosis (cà ³mo se cree que va a ser la evolucià ³n de la enfermedad), cunto tiempo se cree que va a durar el tratamiento, cul es el costo, cà ³mo se va a pagar y cules son los planes para salir de Estados Unidos cuando finalice el tratamiento. Asimismo, adjuntar toda la documentacià ³n adicional y detallada de apoyo que sirva para demostrar que existe una emergencia y tambià ©n la papelerà ­a con documentos personales, como copia legible del pasaporte del solicitante, su certificado de nacimiento o adopcià ³n y, si los tuviera, los certificados de matrimonio y decreto de divorcio.   Adems, escribir una carta concisa pero que contenga todos los puntos sobre por quà © debe aprobarse la parole humanitaria. Esta aplicacià ³n tiene en la actualidad un costo de $575 dà ³lares americanos, pero verificar siempre antes de enviar la solicitud ya que puede cambiar. No es posible solicitar una waiver para no pagar esta cuota. Adems, las personas entre 14 y 79 aà ±os de edad deben pagar $85 ms en concepto de toma de datos biomà ©tricos. Cabe destacar que si algà ºn documento est en un idioma distinto al inglà ©s debe traducirse y  certificar la traduccià ³n. Por el contrario, si la solicitud de la envà ­a un patrocinador que est en Estados Unidos, como por ejemplo un familiar el trmite consiste en rellenar las planillas I-131 y I-134 y adjuntar pago y documentacià ³n adicional como se ha dicho anteriormente. La à ºnica diferencia y muy importante es que no es necesario acudir al consulado por una pre-autorizacià ³n. Adems, en este caso, el patrocinador al llenar el formulario I-134 deber presentar los tax returns de los à ºltimos dos aà ±os.  ¿Cà ³mo se envà ­a la documentacià ³n para la parole humanitaria? Depende de dà ³nde est la persona que realiza la solicitud: Si el que solicita el parole es la persona que solicita ingresar a Estados Unidos y por lo tanto se encuentra fuera del paà ­s, entonces la documentacià ³n se entrega o envà ­a al consulado o embajada, quien la remite a la oficina del Humanitarian Affairs Branch (HAB, por sus siglas en inglà ©s), que est ubicado en Washington D.C. Por el contrario, si se cuenta con un patrocinador en Estados Unidos o se tiene aquà ­ abogado, entonces existen dos direcciones. State Hwy 121, Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067 Respuesta de USCIS a la solicitud de parole humanitaria Como regla general, el Servicio de Inmigracià ³n y Ciudadanà ­a (USCIS, por sus siglas en inglà ©s) responde por carta al solicitante y a su abogado, si lo tiene, entre 90 y  120 dà ­as despuà ©s del envà ­o. Sin embargo, si existe urgencia se puede solicitar tramitacià ³n de emergencia y se puede resolver en cuestià ³n de dà ­as. Si pasan ms de 120 dà ­as y no ha habido comunicacià ³n de ningà ºn tipo es recomendable escribir al lugar al que se envià ³ la solicitud y pedir informacià ³n.   Si se deniega la peticià ³n de la parole humanitaria, no se puede apelar, pero si cambian las circunstancias o se consiguen ms documentos para apoyar la solicitud, se puede aplicar de nuevo. Por el contrario, si se aprueba, se notifica al solicitante y a su abogado, si lo tiene. A continuacià ³n la embajada o el consulado se coordinar con el HAB y con el solicitante para entregarle a à ©ste los documentos para viajar a Estados Unidos por el tiempo que se concede el parole, que generalmente es  por el tiempo necesario que dure la emergencia. El parole expira el dà ­a que se  indica en el documento en el que se aprueba o, si se sale antes de Estados Unidos, ese dà ­a. Se puede pedir un nuevo parole una vez que se est en Estados Unidos, es lo que en inglà ©s se llama un re-parole. Esto es, no se trata de una extensià ³n, sino de una nueva aplicacià ³n y se tiene que explicar por quà © se necesita.   La documentacià ³n y el pago se envà ­a a la oficina del HAB: 20 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Ste 3300 Washington, D.C. 20529-2100 Estadà ­sticas y consejos Cada aà ±o fiscal, el USCIS recibe aproximadamente unas 1.200 peticiones para que apruebe parole humanitarias. De ese total, apenas se aprueban 300. Es decir, se niegan el 75 por ciento o lo que es lo mismo, sà ³lo obtienen la aprobacià ³n una de cada cuatro. Los nà ºmeros indican claramente que no es fcil de obtener por lo que conviene estudiar las reglas y si se cree que se cumplen los requisitos contratar a un abogado con experiencia positiva en este tipo de casos. En ningà ºn caso se aprueban peticiones con el fin de saltarse las reglas establecidas por las leyes migratorias de los Estados Unidos. La parole humanitaria es el à ºltimo recurso para ingresar a Estados Unidos.
